I took Lex in yesterday to the Ped. Orthopedist because her heel has really been bothering her lately (mostly at gym). Come to find out she has stress fractures in her heel. So he casted her today to "force her to stay off it." And I thought--this is the first time any of my three kids has ever had a cast! She complained a little but you can tell she loves it. She only has to wear it for 2 weeks too, kind-of the best of both worlds, exciting to have for a little while but doesn't have to deal with it for 6 or 8 weeks. She chose purple which is wonderful -but apparently not-so-much cause tonight when she was getting clothes out for tomorrow she goes, "Nothing matches it!" Seriously? (everybody knows I would just wear black)

blue, no. . . black, no. . . PURPLE!

Sunflower Seed Granola
I don't normally post recipes but I might just start! I have been baking (way too much) lately and tonight I came across a granola recipe that I thought I mine as well try, --right? It is really good, so here it is if you feel so inclined to give it a shot!
3/4 c. sunflower seeds
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. ground flaxseeds
1/2 c. dried cranberries
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1/2 c. shredded coconut, unsweetened
3 T. natural peanut butter
1/2 t. salt
1/3 c. agave syrup
1/2 t. vanilla
Preheat oven to 300. Combine all ing. in a bowl and mix till blended. Press into a 9 x 9 in. pan and bake for 40 min.
I didn't have any coconut on hand (used it for something else a couple days ago) so I just didn't use any. I loved it, right up my alley.

FALL
I love Fall time. Just a few reasons why:
1. Wearing jeans again (except I don't remember them being this tight?)
2. BAKING! (maybe why the jeans are tight.)
3. Being outside, just about anywhere.
4. Trees. Obviously some places are better than others for this.
5. Crisp morning and night air.
6. Football.
We were in Ca. last week to visit family and had a great time. Spent 1 day at Disneyland with cousins and aunts, spent one day at the beach (with the cousins and aunts AND Grandma this time), and one day out to breakfast, to the bookstore, and to the park with my 3 babies. There is something about a beautiful day at the park with no time restraints and everything you need--yummy snacks, a sweater, a book or magazine, etc. Here are a few pic.s from the trip.
