Houston, (I mean BYU) I think we've got a problem

My kids are doing sports camps at BYU this summer. The other night we were looking at some of the info on the website and came across this gem of a statement--

"Males are also expected to have their hair trimmed above the collar, leaving the ear uncovered. All hairstyles should be clean and neat. Extreme hairstyles are unacceptable."

The first sentence is even underlined!

So. . . . . here is Cooper





Hmmmmmm, what do YOU think?

above the collar? --not so much

clean and neat? --sometimes

extreme? --according to who?

Poor Coop, he loves his hair, he really does. He has not wanted it cut in a long time (I know--that's obvious), and I'm fine with that, it's HIS hair. I feel bad for him that he has to make this decision, and yes--he is struggling with it. (I told you, the kid is attached to his hair!)

(those of you who know me well can guess how the whole thing sits with me. . . . )

I have precious few pictures of my husband and myself. Kids are a dream photo shoot compared to trying to get 10 seconds out of him. He obliged me on Mothers Day for all of maybe 15 seconds--whatever, I'll take it.

My White Roses

Do you have something, or more than one thing, that just makes your house. . . . . YOUR home? I have a few of those things. One of them is the white roses in front of our house. I specifically had the landscaper plant them there when we had all the landscaping done when we moved in. I have always loved these kind of "softer" white roses. They aren't thorny and pokey. And this time of year they are in bloom and I love pulling up to my house (18 times a day) and seeing them.









And one more thing--these are also in bloom right now in Vegas and I love them. This is another plant I made sure I had a lot of when we landscaped. You know what it is, right? (I'm not telling--but they smell INCREDIBLE)
